If you are desperate, take the shears apart and see what size and voltage the bateries are. You should be able to find them at Radio Shack or on line or at any elextronic parts store, and then just swap them out. It is not a big deal.

take the battery out and see if you can do a search on the internet for that size and kind of battery. If it's a common batter for different types of equipment, you may get the battery cheaper than going through the john deere website or distributor
