I keep squirrels out of my bird feeders by sprinkling the birdseed with cayenne pepper. I buy 1 pound containers at Sam's or Costco. FYI, birds can't taste capsicum (the hot in hot peppers) so they don't notice.
So, brew some hot pepper tea and spray it on your veggies. It should last until it rains and washes off when you want to eat your crop. Try about 4 to 6 oz of Cayenne pepper in about half a gallon of water. Boil for 5 minutes or so, then strain. When it cools, just spray it on the plants. None of your squirrels will be "repeat customers" at your veggie bar!

We use to use the wind mills. You know the little ones you hold in your hand. It always worked. squirrels are very clever so it is going to be hard.

I'd use a .22 - or a shotgun if you don't have a steady hand.
