when there are lots of aphids, you would not gave enough ladybugs at hand. ...what is better than just soap water: dissolve (emulgate) some cooking ois in soapy water and spray very thorooughly every day untill they are gone (trhee times was enough in my case but requires checking aftewards becaus they can be back anytime) the oil clogs their pores and they die.

here it is sold under name: biooil but you can make it yourself at no cost. best works if u use the bubble bath stuff as the soap.

so u take one gallon bottle, put as much bubblebath concentrate as in your bath, the same or twice the same of oil and rest water. shake long and well till it is milky

if the roses look oily then, uese some just soap water and then clean water to fix it after the bugs are gone

Put some dish washing soap (Palmolive, Dawn, etc) in a spray bottle with water. Spray the soapy water on your roses. It won't hurt the roses.

Ladybugs are your best bet.
you can pick em up at either your local nursery, garden supply store or just about any home depot. but when you release them make sure that your roses are damp around the base and release them around dusk.
If your ladybugs get to hot or they don't have food and water they'll take off so make sure it's cool moist but not to soggy when you release them.

Spray them with cold water. They hate that. I'm not kidding it works. Try soapy water too.

Try making a vinegar and water solution. I'm pretty sure it kills some weeds too.
