I had to cut out some concrete and dig up my old drain pipes in my basement as they were old cast iron and falling apart. I have a trench about 24 inches wide and 15 feet long as well as another area for a new bathroom about 5' by 5' that I am ready to fill back in. I will backfill with the dirt I removed from it in the first place and want to pour 4" of concrete. Do I need to put concrete and/or gravel UNDERNEATH the concrete, or can I pour the concrete directly into the backfilled trenches?

Also, do I need to put anything on the existing concrete edges of the trenches I dug to aid in sealing the new concrete to the old?

I'm thinking about biulding a game room in my backyard. I plan to do the entire project myself. The only problem I forsee myself having is the drain for the waste water from the sink and toilet. The bathroom will be located approximateely 130 feet from the sidewalk. Am I going to seen a tank and a sump pump?

And I mean this is for consumption, so anything that will affect the edibility (drug, poison, gas) is not ruled out automatically.
Some methods:
brain shot (technically this sould mean instant loss of consciousness)
Cutting of neck arteries
chopping head off
... any other inputs?

build a "safe room" enclosure for a small dog? I've got the demensions and an idea, but aside from the wood boards I have no idea what else I'll need and don't enjoy going into things half-retarded, so I'm asking here, where even if someone calls me an idiot I don't have to care.

What would be required in building a three-sided *open-ended rectangle, not triangle* stand on it's own type structure? 4'x5' area, 2' high. A door would need to be cut into one end, 12" tall by 9" wide. I figure that a pair of small hinges as well as a locking device would be needed for that, but I really have no idea how to get the corners together. Do you think that a fourth side is absolutely necessary? Functionally I don't think I'd need it, but would it still be structurally sound enough to put up with a bouncing puppy?

Any useful info is greatly appreciated.

My boss wants to put a notice board on the wall of the storage freezer where I work. The Freezer maintains temperatures of -20 degrees to keep food frozen. Because of this temperature, conventional sticky stuff just dries up and the item drops off: blu-tak, velcro backing sticky, sellotape etc. We can't pierce the wall because the freezer would not work. All ideas welcome.

I have a detached garage that is about 30 feet from my house. I want to run power to the garage. I plan on having a garage door opener, light, and 3 outlets. I dont plan on running any heavy equipment (maybe a small compressor). I though I could just bury some romex in 1.5" PVC pipe but I was told not to use romex as it is designed to run in a certain heat range.
I dont plan on using a sub-panel in the garage.
So here are my questions?
-How deep does the wire have to be buried?
-Would 12 gauge wire on a 20 amp breaker be sufficient or should I go with 10 gauge?
What are my options on burying the wire? What tipes of wire can be run in PVC and buried underground?
Any other tips would also be appreciated.
Thanks!
