I use I cup vinegar, 1 cup ammonia, and 3 cups water. The ammonia gives the mixture extra 'oomph' for greasy or filmed windows.You can also add blue food coloring to make it look like the commercial stuff if you are so inclined.

I used the vinegar and moved to another good cleaner. The cornstarch and water mixture actually does a good job plus leaves a shine on the surface for a longer period of time, unlike the vinegar which tends to attract and hold more film, yucky!

I cup vinegar to 1 cups water works fine. Straight vinegar makes your home smell bad. Use newspaper instead of paper towels. It makes the windows shine better and no streaking.

I use the vinegar full strength for the best results. Wipe it with newspaper, it leaves the glass sparkling!
