I'm thinking about biulding a game room in my backyard. I plan to do the entire project myself. The only problem I forsee myself having is the drain for the waste water from the sink and toilet. The bathroom will be located approximateely 130 feet from the sidewalk. Am I going to seen a tank and a sump pump?

The house is on a city sewer system, there is no septic tank. The problem with tapping into the existing homes sewer line is that the closest pipe is about 70 feet away. This makes it very difficult to position the sewer pipe coming from the game room at the appropriate angle. To connect to existing plumbing and has the correct drop i would have to plave my toilet about a foot off the ground.

Yes you will need a sub-pump also you may want to look into a toilet called sani-best or sani-flo you can hook them up without proper plumbing. Or even sani grind which turns all the waste into compost like substance.

Do you have a santiary sewer cleanout pipe anywhere around your house? You can deffinitly tap into that for your waste since it goes into your main drain anyways.

The other option is if you have a basement, you can run the drain there and tie into your existing plumbing.

You could dig a new drain to the street, but be prepaired to spend a good 10 grand if not more!

Maybe you want to forget about the toilet and just install the sink. From there, you can dig a pit behind the game room and install a drywell which is basically a big hole for the water to seep back into the ground. If you do this, you just got to watch what you pour down the sink. Also a garbage disposer would be out of the question.

where the sidewalk is? what does that matter? the question is where can you tie into a waste line. a few options for that have already been given, another is getting the guys that find pipes to come out and use their equipment to find it. you also neglected to tell us whether you are on city sewer or on a septic tank system in you yard. basically, you have to be able to tie into a waste line somewhere, if you can't do that, forget it as far as a standard toilet is concerned. what i would do, if i were you, is figure it out, do most of the work, such as the digging and such, and get a pro to do the actual tie in. in most places you will have to anyway because it is required that only certified people tap into waste and water lines on a city system. if you can do it, tying in to a basement line would probably be easiest, as already suggested.
