Turn off the water at that valve at the floor. If the valve does not work, go turn off the water where it enters the house. Flush the commode and hold the valve down until all the water that will - leaves the tank. Take a turkey baster and get the rest of that water out and all the water from the bowl too. Unscrew the hose from that valve at the floor. Take out the two bolts that go into the floor at the base of the bowl. Lift out the old commode and take it away. If that valve was bad and you had to turn off the water where it comes into the house - Install a new valve. Clean out the old wax ring at the hole in the floor where the commode sits and put a new wax ring there. Then open the new commode box and follow the directions inside to put it together and install it. Make sure you also bought a new hose to go from the valve on the floor to the commode tank. Also make sure you bought a new bolt set to install the commode that was the same as the one you removed. Don't ever use any of the old parts. This is really easy so good luck and get to it. Come by here and do mine when you finish. Then take my old one and your old one and put one at each side of the end of your driveway and fill the bowls with dirt. Plant flowers in the dirt and see how mad your wife gets. No sense of humor. LOL

First turn off the water valve in the back of the toilet, then flush the toilet to empty the remaining water. Next unscrew the bolts that are holding the toilet down. If there is caulk around the base of the toilet scar it with a razor-blade. Then lift off the toilet. Once the toilet is off you'll see a wax ring or whats left of one around the opening of the hole where the toilet was, you want to clean that wax off with a rag. To put the new toilet on, you'll need a new wax ring to seal the toilet to the floor; you can pick one up at your local home improvement store. Place the new wax ring around the opening on the floor and set your new toilet centered on top. Put the bolts back on the base to secure the toilet from moving and then turn the water back on. Give it a couple of flushes to make sure it doesn't leak and then re-caulk around the toilet and enjoy.

shut off water supply valve flush and then dip the remaining water out of the bowl and then take the bolts lose usaully just two and the are some times covered by caps at the base of it when you get them lose bend down and get a hold of the bowl and lift it up then replace the wax ring onthe new one and set it back over the hole and gentle tighten the bolts a little at a time alternating from side to side caution do not over tighten them or the toilet will crack and you dont want that then replace the supply tubing and turn water supply valve back on and check for leaks and when the tank is full flush and check that it work and no leaks its easy and will save you some money doing it your self

Go to Lowes.com or Homedepot.com and check their how to library. They have videos that shows the step by step process of removing a toilet and installing a new one.
Good Luck!

turn off the water, unscrew the bolts on either side, get every bit of water out, pull up.. scrape out the waxy ring... replace waxy seal/ ring, replace toilet... be careful not to tighten bolts too much, or toilet will easily crack...

Tom is correct. It's not hard at all. I'm a girl and have done it. But boy are those things "heavy"! Probably won't be to you as much as me. You can do it!
