My XL shirt shrink really badly. The shirt is made out of cotton. Is there a way to bring it back to its normal size? Also how do you prevent clothes from shrinking.

I'm looking for someone over 60 who remembers how we had to struggle for nylon hosiery during the 40's. There was a way to put all your mismatched hose in a pan of something like vinegar or salt or something and I think you heated it and all the stockings came out the same color. Sound familiar to anyone? Maybe someone reading this could ask their mother or grandmother.

At my local Wal-Mart, there are a bunch of cheap shirts in very nice colors. They are 60% cotton and 40% polyester. I've always worn 100% cotton, so I don't know if these shirts are...acceptable quality. Is 60% cotton good enough for a shirt? I heard that polyester is cheap and makes you sweat a lot because cotton allows better air-flow. Either way, I just want the shirts for the unusual colors that can't be found in 100% cotton.

I have a marble bath with all glass enclosures. Now with the soap scum and water spots, the normal soap and scrubbing action does not work anymore.
However most of the detergents say do not use on Marble?!! So how can I clean the glass without getting detergent on the marble? Or rather, is there a product out there that is safe to drip on marble? Btw, I have crema marfil, which is considered pretty porous and is beige in color.

My hubby had this storage chest that he used when he went away to college over 15 years ago. It's been in the attic, garage, basement for all these years with an old tent in it. (have no idea why the tent was in it) I wanted to use it for blankets. When I opened it smelled musty. It's cedar lined but that didn't stop the odor. How can I get rid of the musty smell?

My cobalt and carribean blue glasses are beginning to suffer. There is a white film and white caked spots that seem to be getting worse. How can I refurbish, retouch the glass? and then keep it from getting worse? Also, the film is all over all the dishes, of course, and I don't feel it is a good idea to eat off of that stuff... Thank you for your help!!
