My flatiron (hair straightening iron) fell and the ceramic plates came off. The iron still heats up but I don't know what to use to glue them back on. They did not chip or crack and there seems to have been glue residue already there in the frame where the plates fit.. They still fit perfectly in place but will not hold with regular super duper glue. Once the iron heats up, the glue melts and they fall out of place. I called the company, (CHI) and they are no help what-so-ever. I paid over $100.00 for it and I know it can be fixed with the right glue. Please advise me of the name and where to buy it. Thank you.

Already have the Silverware from our wedding, so not looking to replace that, but am looking for a solid website / retailer for a decent, elegant stainless set for everyday. Thoughts?

the kitchen is a deep red which i love, but i am not sure what to paint the dining room/living room to compliment it. also, i am attracted to deep plum/wine colors for my bedroom, but don't know if those are too dark. anyone have similar colors in their home that they can comment on?

The chainsaw uses a gas/oil mix to run the engine, which seems to run okay, but it also a separate compartment to store the chain oil, but it appears that the chain is not oiling, causing the chainsaw not to work, or saw properly and overheat the chain and chain bar.

I just bought this house and I am doing alot of small repairs when i noticed that the supply line going to the hot water heater is hot. When i turn on the tap it immediately goes cold. The hot water heater is from 1996 and is gas. If anyone has any idea i would really appreciate it. I am going to replace it this weekend anyway because of the age.

Thanks

Looking for a ballpark cost for wiring and hook up of a new hot tub to be located outside on the deck, approx 60ft from panel in garage, conduit would be half inside/half outside. Tub is 220V with 30A pump and 50A heater, and I'm told by the tub dealer that safety code requires a disconnect within 10' of the tub. See tub website for more specifics, Model 451 - http://www.bullfrogspas.com Appreciate any and all help. I'm located in upstate NY. Thanks!

I hear running water, I feel steam in 2 of my vents and the only thing that stops it is turning off the water to the house. When the water is on the hot water doesn't last nearly as long as usual and the hot water coming out of the faucet is barely hot at all. When we shut off the water heater you can still hear the sounds but you don't feal the "air" like steam. What is going on!!! Any ideas??

I have an old beer-garden table that I want to clean up. It was treated & painted, but it has some rust spots that have come thru. It is at least 40 years old made of some light-weight metal (I don't know what). What is the best stuff to clean & treat this with please? I then want to re-paint it with something? Also it has metal tube legs with open ends. I will put rubber stoppers on these, but should I worry about rust that may be already inside those tube legs? It is special & I want to keep it - came from the OLD Templestowe Pub beer garden - when it was just an old pub.... Ah, yes, memories....

My hands have started to swell already due to my pregnancy and my husband and I were trying to get off my ring. We tried running cold water on my hands and then putting soap on and we still couldn't get it up over the fattest part of my finger. Any suggestions?

We have a fireplace insert with those small firebricks. It's pretty small and burns wood. The front is covered in a chainmail screen. When the dampener is open and I stick my head in there and look up, it seems like the whole unit is tapered into a 8" pipe that goes out the top two floors above and a little more above the roof line. However the dampener when it is open doesn't go completely against the side as it is designed which seems like the smoke from half of the fire goes up there, and kinda has to wisk a bit down again to catch into the main stream to exit the house.

We recently picked up a load of cherry that may or may not be well seasoned. It sizzles which to me says it is probably a bit green still. Our last load didn't smoke that much into the house, but this load, I am having serious issues with smoke coming into the house at the top of the fireplace like there is just too much smoke to exit.
Is there anything I can do? It's pretty clean so that's not the issue.

I'm trying to change the cartridges on the taps, but I can't remove them. I just end up stripping the fitting trying to take them out. What can I do to remove them? The corners on the fitting are already pretty rounded from my previous attempts
