As with most questions here, we have not enough information to give intelligent answers.
We really need "Brand Names", and "Model Numbers" as almost every brand and model have specific differences in configuration and installation requirements.
Please re-ask your question with this in mind, and others can better formulate answers to your specific need.

what you are attempting to do can only be done on some types of lawn mowers, is the snow blower comparable to your lawnmower

I suggest going to the manufacturers website. Have your model name and numbers handy. Some places have manuals online.
