Looking for a ballpark cost for wiring and hook up of a new hot tub to be located outside on the deck, approx 60ft from panel in garage, conduit would be half inside/half outside. Tub is 220V with 30A pump and 50A heater, and I'm told by the tub dealer that safety code requires a disconnect within 10' of the tub. See tub website for more specifics, Model 451 - http://www.bullfrogspas.com Appreciate any and all help. I'm located in upstate NY. Thanks!

Should be connected easily in a day for one man so say $150-$200 for labor. Material would be approx. $200 to $250.

Hello! Yawn...reading the others....Go to Lowes but the Square D spa subpanel for 72 dollars and measure out the distance between your tub and panel where it would hook up and and 13 feet (average). The 6/3 outdoor wire will cost you around $3.72 a foot. Hopefully your panel to your house is outside and near your tub so the costs will be low. Electricians run any where's from 25 to 75 an hour depending on your state. It will take four hours max. You can do it yourself with a little guidence. By the way I really like that brand of hot tub! Feel free to email and call me and I can lead you step by step trhough the process. $250 for the wire and conduit. $80.00 for the GRFI breaker, $12 for the quick disconnect, labor $25-$75 an hour. 4 hours tops.

Depending on which part of the country you are in, hourly rates can vary for electricians. I have seen tubs take anywhere from 20-50 amps and 120 volts -250 volts to run. All hot tubs need to be GFCI protected! I have done estimates and installs here in the Metro Detroit area and the "average" tub can run around $500 to wire correctly.

Most hot tubs I have seen are run on 30 amp service and have to be ground faulted. They usually get about $50.00 per hour plus cost of materials.

Your going to require a 100amp sub panel with two GFCI circuit breakers One 30amp and one 50amp . Your main panel must have the space and capacity to pull off a 100amp circuit.

The GFCI circuit breakers in the sub panel will act as the disconnect that is required as long as its within sight and distance requirements.
The conduit run is hard to say as to cost, the interior run especially will be tough. Consider using a cable through the inside area and than changing over to conduit to the sub panel.
I can't tell you what it will cost in your area with out being there and knowing the prevailing wages, insurance cost, permit fees etc.
I would get 3 estimates from contractors and then decide whom to hire. This is not a job for a handy man. water and electricity are deadly and allow not mistakes please hire a profession
Good luck

You will need an 2 empty areas on your house panel for the hook up. The cost will all depend on if you do the trenching or they do the trenching. Average Lic. Electrician in Calif. is $75.00 per hour not including there service call fee.
The electrician will hook up a double GFI at the panel then off to the new outside junction box within the required area of the spa. There should be an emergency off swith installed within the 10` required.

Depends on the circumstances as to what it will cost.
such as distance from hot tub to breaker-panel.
Accessibility to get into panel.
But for your own safety hire a professional electrician.
if this job is not done correctly you could get some-one killed.
This is definitely not a job for a do-it -yourself er!

Atleast $500. If you do it yourself $200. The wire price is outragious.
