My hands have started to swell already due to my pregnancy and my husband and I were trying to get off my ring. We tried running cold water on my hands and then putting soap on and we still couldn't get it up over the fattest part of my finger. Any suggestions?

vaseline. Also, use very warm water first, to heat up the ring but not too hot to scald you. Cold water makes the ring shrink. Also see if you have less swelling at some part of the day--early morning or before you go to bed and use that time to get the rings off easier. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.

Take a spool of coarse sewing tread and wrap the tread on your finger about an inch in front of the ring,as tightly as you can stand it.Don't use silk becouse you may cut the skin.
When you get to the ring slip the tread under it , the best spot is on the palm side of the finger where you can depress the flesh of the finger.
Once you got the tread on the other side of the ring, pull it taught and start rotating the tread in the opposite way that you wind up.
The ring will slowly follow the unwinding tread and came off.

try to get it off after a hot bath that might shrink your finger a little bit..and put either liquid soap or butter on it...some peoples fingers swell at different times of the day mine do right in the morning but others shrink in the mornings..i hope you get it off that would be horrible to have it cut..why does it need off so bad anyways?

start drinking water and cut out your salt or salty foods. Then try to take it off in the morning while your fingers are less swollen.
get your rings cut off if you are unable to get them off in the morning.
they can be repaired so that you can't even tell.
:-) good luck

I would try in the evening, as my hands tend to swell an extra amount (on top of pregnancy) overnight. I would just try to lub it up with a slippery oil, like vegetable or massage oil (or clear K-Y). Good luck to you!

wrap dental floss or a heavy thread around your finger starting at the ring - keep wrapping around your finger till you're past your knuckle (don't overlap the thread) It should compress your finger enough that with a little lubricant and it should slide off.

Please get it off of your finger. If any method will not work with the soaps etc. Go to your nearest jeweler and have it removed. They will also repair it and the charge is minimal.
