Theres nowhere to aim gutters, the houses were built too close together 'back in the day.' The previous owners illegally routed a downspout into the sewer line, going straight through the foundation. Its now leaking inside the wall. I don't have much money to pay the pros and there is not a whole bunch of options here, it's driving me crazy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is getting really old and she has some really nice furniture in her house. I think I could swap it out for the crap in my house and she wouldn't even notice. I mean, even if she did I would just tell her she forgot about the 'garage sale'. What does she need it for?

I have Robert H Peterson's vented gas log with electric start (no pilot light). When I start it, it start clicking and the flame is burning but it does not start the fire. Followed the instructions of waiting for few minutes before restarting. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong. Called the support and replace the ignition assembly too without any result.

I want to redo the hardwood floors in my living room and get it painted. Which should I do first? Should I paint the walls first or should I sand and stain the floors first? Which sequence makes most sense and why?

Hello. I've got in my 4x8 half-inch chipboard and a load of 3x2 sawn. Now, I've done this before, but in a cellar only 9 feet high, and mainly with single panelled partitions, so that was quite easy. I wedged my 2x2 studs between the ceiling and the floor and it worked a treat.

Now I need to do the same in a building much higher (far far too high to fix studs to the ceiling ie. like 30 feet high) and although I think I know where to start, does anyone have any pointers / tips? My main concern is getting the stability so the whole thing is not prone to falling over. Please note I would rather not create a ceiling in the rooms I am creating (yet). Please also note these will be panelled on each side and filled with rockwool, but for speed I would like to panel just one side initially if I can get away with it.

All the info I can find is re plasterboard partitions, well I don't want that; I won't go into why just take my word for it!

Or just give a step by step if you prefer! Thanks

Our dryer comes on, spins, and the outside of the dryer feels hot. But the clothes are not drying. You can feel the heat when you open the dryer though. I moved the dryer recently because I was cleaning around it. You think I knocked something loose? Everything looks hooked up in the back, so Is it coming from the inside? And is it fixable? Thanks a bunch!

This is a deep freezer compressor. The specs on the compressor say that they want R134a@95psi on the low side, but with standard auto R134a cans I am only able to get about 70psi, which does not chill enough. I am assuming this is because the standard auto cans are only 70psi? Also, what is the best way to get the compressor to 95psi?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

So, we got a whole house humidifier and was told we do not need to clean/maintain it except once a year by calling our heating company and they will clean it and replace the filter. All we have to do is shut it off once we shut off the furnace. But in the humidifers pamplhet it says it should be cleaned every 1-3 months? Everyone i have talked to just has their heating company take care of it once a year and I have been told by two different HVAC companies the same thing. So, now i am confused . What do you do?
