get a loft bed (the image of a bed not on the floor makes it look a lot bigger) get a really nice wooden desk and put a laptop on it, color,prefferably, and try to space things out........dont clump items in ur room or it will look small and will look like u dont take care of ur things.........get one dresser, thats it, and throw away any items that u rarely or never use (especially CLOTHES) and under ur bed (IF U GO W/ LOFT BED) u should Either put the desk there, or the dresser there, but a couch always looks good under there, especially one that can be made into a bed for company ( if u and ur roommate have any[if u have a roommate])

blow it up or so something that will get you kicked out of it for a while. after living in a box under the freeway for a while, the dorm room will look like a palace

Get some space organizors from Home Depot or similar.
Use under the bed storage, closet shelving & containers,
multiple hooks for back of doors, book-shelves for desk.
Get a compact laudry hamper & use it regularly.

mirrors on a wall... even broken pieces all in a mosaic helps,
but large mirrors give the illusion that the room is twice the size,
just don't try to walk thru it if you get drunk, LOL

try keeping it tidier, dont over crowd it and lighter colours always make thingy look bigger, also u may not have but if you stick posters on the walls then that usualy makes it look smaller x

Get BED RISERS !!! they are little blocks that go on all four posts on your bed, and makes the bed rise a good foot, it makes so much of difference !!!! You can store bins under there, and have so much more room!!!
