Bedroom from the 90's gotta go?

Question

I am going to repaint my room. I have furniture and It's staying, except I'm exchanging end tables. I have a wooden one but am getting a white one.

What else should I do. This room hasn't changed for many years. Sorry for the blue tape on one of the pics. I got bored. I need to clean closet and carpet, sorry. MUST BE DOG SAFE!

I have beads for closet, just they were up so I could clean it. My carpet is medium beige.

You should have three colors which brings balance to the room. Depending on how loud you want it, you could go with either brown or even pick out the teal in the bedspread. Paint picture frames in orange and the third color to bring out accents. Get some throw pillows to dress up the chairs and bed. And, I want to congratulate you on choice of dogs...I have one just like it sitting on my lap this minute! Good luck with you room.

Like the orange drapes with the bedspread!
Maybe get a curtain for closet in one of the brights? [ orange, teal ]
Add another of the brights from the bedspread - suggest teal,
lime, or hot pink - for small accessories - lamps/shades, vases, ornaments, flowerpots, candles/holders.
Add throw pillows in same colors.
Frame all art in similar colors or materials - brass or chrome, oak or walnut, colored enamel.
Maybe a light beige carpet?
