Or must I use Duraroc board or a similar item.
Also can I use a ceramic wall tile on the floor ? I know they are of different thicknesses but would the wall tile hold up on a floor? Thanks for all the help.

I'm going to build houses in new otleans and we r supposed to bring work boots... i've always worked in my sneakers... and I don't think I'll be needing work boots too often in the future so i don't want to pay a lot for really really excellent ones. I just need a rugged set that will last me well for a week or two. Anyone know where I can get these?

Thanks : )

I was using my dining room table as an ironing board with only a towel to protect it, and I was using the steam setting. This, of course, ruined the finish on my table in that area. It didn't hurt the wood, but rather just the lacquer finish. Is there anyway to repair this without stripping, sanding and refinishing the whole table. This is a light wood table with no stain.

I have had a plant pot with 3 types of cacti for about 2 years now and would really like to know what they are.

I have posted some pictures here: http://weblog.xanga.com/yahooanswerspicture/632107019/cacti.html

I would really like to know there botanical name but a common name would also be good.

One is tall and covered in long white (non sticky) hairs. Another is wide and has heaps of little 'bulb things' with 4 white spikes coming out like a star with several longer ones from the top of the plant. The 3rd is tall has 3 thin 'panels' arranged like a star for a steam and a large round red 'ball' with small spikes around the edge.

I have 3 toilets in my house, and all of them have minor problems.

Toilet #1: It wasn't flushing properly, so I took off the lid and tried flushing it again to see what was going on. When I flushed it, a giant fountain of water started spraying up from the valve-part. What could've possibly caused that?

Toilet #2: The handle is a little loose, and the bowl takes FOREVER to fill back up once flushed...usually around 3 minutes. How do I correct that?

Toilet #3: When I press the handle down to flush it, it only continues to flush for as long as I'm holding down the handle. As soon as I let go, it sounds like something (probably the flapper) slams shut. I've gotten used to just holding the handle down for 4 or 5 seconds until it flushes all the way, but I'd like to just press the handle, let go, and trust that it will still flush.

My gut tells me all 3 of these problems are minor ones, and I don't have the budget to hire a plumber if I don't need to. Any help? Can I do it myself?

If so, I have another question. Our house was sprayed for ants and roaches. The exterminator said there is no risk to me (I am pregnant) because the spray he uses is odorless and harmless to pets and children. He said the only way it might be harmful was if I licked it up off the floor.

I need someone to tell me if this is true.

It's summer here and the plaster was done a week ago, do I brush first to reduce dust?...how does one do/create a 'pissy' coat? Do I need leave for 2-3 weeks after pissy coat before more undercoats?

I had a demonstration once and the Kirby vacumm did seem to be sucking the dirt up from not only the rugs but also under the floorboards! I was amazed to say the least. But I'd like to know what the owners of them think. Tell me all about the good and bad sides of this vacuum. Thanks :)

My dryer is taking 2-4 cycles (timed dry 70 minutes, or 6-7 regular dry cycles) to dry a regular load of laundry, 2 cycles to dry a small load. not only is that costing a lot for electricity, but my clothes often don't smell so good since it stays damp for so long. What parts do i need or am i going to have to replace it?
