Im wondering if i should become an electrician or plumber. Im asking any workers out there of their opinion, eg. how much you get paid, how easy the work is etc. I might go into plumbing because i got told is simpler but im also thinking of going into electricity becasue the knowledge i gain from it could be used for something better.

I'm just on with the housework and I usually go for my comfy fuzzy mules, or a pair of Scholl exercise sandals & either hold ups or knee highs.
But just wondered what other housewives wear around the home..?

A water leak has stopped.... I thought I must have had a water pipe bust.... but now what? What are my options. I will eventually be remodeling anyways.... would it just seem smart to replace the old piping now anyways? This house is almost fifty years old. Thanks for your help............

Or just do not have an ambience about it. I have moved back into a house that I lived in before, years ago...I never felt comfortable in the place or happy.and still feel the same even though it has been modernised and changed.

I was planning on tiling my living room with nice porcelin tile. There is a stair case in the living room that goes to a second floor that had carpet but I removed it. Now there is generic builders wood stair case underneath it that is unfinishable or usable. I want to put a wood or laminate over it. The stairs are 11 x 35 and I only want to cover the foot (step) portion. Is there a laminate or wood that has the nose piece and foot portion all in one built in? I just want something to install over it that is easy and will kind of fit right over the stair without having to install seperate pieces. Any help is much appreciated.

The dry cleaner charges extra and I don't think it really gets clean. Is there a trick to keeping the fringes from getting tangled into a mass of yarn?

water was leaking into my basement for the last few days and it has now stopped. There was some snow on the ground and I shoveled it away yesterday. Now a day later it is no longer leaking into my basement. Can it be because of the snow or maybe the ground is frozen around the leak? It is pretty cold outside. What do you think? I am getting ready to pay close to 2 grand to put a new pipe in. I will be remodeling soon... so maybe it's a good idea either way.... it's an older house and has old piping. Thanks for your thoughts.

I need to build a couple of light boxes, for my photo hobby.

Basically, they would be for a model to stand, sit, and pose on.

I need to know some thickness's, of glass and or plexi-glass, that would work for that. Lets assume, 200 pounds tops (for safety), wearing heels.

The frame would be built with a 1" lip, lined with felt, for the glass to rest on.

The sizes I am thinking of are: 18"x18", and 24"x36".

And, until I can actually contact a local glass company, maybe approximate cost of said glass/plexi. Just as a guesstimate.

I live in a maybe a 50 year old house which has cracks in the corners and down the edges of the bedroom walls, just worried if there is Asbestos, can it be a health issue, like can the Asbestos fly out through the cracks? Just worried because my kids sleep in the room with the cracks.

My parents and I are re-modeling parts of our home and we'd like to know what kind of laminate wood flooring could be used on a concrete floor. Glue or glueless?

Bear in mind that my parents are both home improvement people (Dad is a roofing supervisor; Mom works as a dept. manager for a local indie hardware store). However, they are open to advice and suggestions from others on what kind of laminate wood flooring to use on concrete floors.

I inherited a beautiful, large jade plant (around two feet tall that sits in a pot that is a foot in diameter and about a foot deep.) I recently moved it inside because I was worried about frost damage. Unfortunately I just discovered that my evil cat has urinated in the soil, and the plant definitely does not seem to be doing well. How can I make it feel better?
