Or just do not have an ambience about it. I have moved back into a house that I lived in before, years ago...I never felt comfortable in the place or happy.and still feel the same even though it has been modernised and changed.

Everything has an energy. Are there bad memories for you here. Get to a place where your soul can be comfortable

Yes, there are certain houses, sometimes amongst others that get bought and sold constantly, there is one near us that is a lovely looking house, all the times (which I've lost count of!) it's been for sale we've never viewed it. It stands alone, not on an estate but near others, not a 1st time buyer type, it looks idyllic, the type of property you'd buy and intend to stay for a long time, the interior pictures are great, the garden is beautiful, the area is lovely, but nobody stays more than a year. It's just been sold again, we have bets on what date the boards will go up........no idea what the problem is with it - maybe we should go and look, get a feel for it! I'm betting on!12/01/08, the boards will be up again!!

It's not always supernatural, and there's something you can do about it.

We bought our current house, and after moving in found out he was a miserly, evil, hateful little man. He was divorced and he used to shoot BB's at the local kids, would shoot their pets.

My wife has these "intuitions" (we'll leave it at that.) There was this feeling she got in the kitchen, like there was a dark cloud there. She has this cleansing ritual she does, which I'll describe to you in a minute. She puts candles in all rooms of the house, and lets them burn completely down.

The one in the kitchen burned down in under an hour. These were 4 hour candles. The phone was in the kitchen as well. We came to the conclusion that whatever evil he carried, his hatred and anger, he spend a lot of time in the kitchen boiling over it, this was the place he chewed that bone.

Sometimes people leave shadows of themselves in a home. You can feel this in any house you walk into.

I used the word "ritual" but you can call it a prayer if you want; it's not "magic" by any sense of the word. My wife used candles. You can use incense, sage, even a spray that makes you FEEL clean and revived, anything that feels to you like a good thing. The power is in your contemplation.

Sometimes this can be acted out by simply painting all the walls a different color, because in working and painting, you are putting the same energy into driving out the darkness as someone making a prayer.

Go to the areas of the house that are worst, contemplate on driving out the darkness, meditate on it if you like that word better, fill the room with the scent, or burn a candle. This does work. I am not a believer in such things . . . but I've seen it. :-)

Definately, but whether its a supernatural phenomena or not is debatable.

Heres one of my theories:

Every living thing has an aura (something which has been scientifically proven) - this aura is made up of energy. As we all know energy cannot be destroyed, only transferred and transformed. So, it might not be so crazy to suggest that a home would soak up some of the energy left by its residents. Therefore someone visiting this place may well pick up on that energy frequency and it may either be experienced as pleasant or unpleasant depending on the occurances in that place previously.

In regards to houses being built on burial grounds. Alot of grief and ceremony would have been put into "concecrating" such places, so when one resides in a house built atop of such places it would, in theory, still harbour those energies and affect people suseptable to it. No amount of decorating would change that.

there are also things known as laylines (sp?) - I am not too knowledgeable about them but think they have something to do with earth energies and magnetic flows. These apparently affect the occurances of so-called poltergeist activity and "bad feelings".

Absolutely!

Many houses being built as I write are not going to have a good and healthy feeling about them.

It could be due to design, location, lack of enough windows, too little or too much insulation.

A house is not a home until people love living in it.

I have done everything I could to make my home cozy and desirable, and I hate visiting people where I don't feel as confortable as I do living in my own home.

Every improvement I made has to do with energy saving, ambience, and my own oil paintings that adorn my walls (and those of neighbors, coworkers and friends).

I am very proud of what I made my home look like which took many years to accomplish.

You also can improve upon a cold house like you've described by tackling each project one at a time.

Over time, you can make your home warm and cozy as well.

Just plan it out.

One more thing...make sure you don't have toxins around or surrounding your home.

That "cold" feeling you get could be something much worse.

There is such thing as a house literally killing people.

No poisons or toxins exist in or around my home.

It's completely in tune with nature and the environment. I know this because I raise pets in my basement, and they show signs of excellent health which is a reflection of my own health. They are living alarms, and important for your home.

Just think...what if all homes were completely in tune with the outside environment?

Would we need to be so environmentally concerned?

I absolutely agree. When I was married we had a fire and then moved back into the house he owned and lived with with his first wife. She committed suicide there. Dispite all of that, the house just had a bad feeling as did all the past history there. I know he changed and reverted to past behavior when we moved in and he started acting as he acted in his past marriage and that was so unacceptable. He didn't want any changes and the place was so out of date and was suffering from lack of care. Needless to say my marriage didn't last but that was our fault. But the house had a bad feeling when I walked through the door. At least I got it painted and cleaned up before I left. I hope the house appreciated that-it sure needed it and a lot more. . .I bought a house a little later. One family had lived in it for generations. It had such a peaceful feeling when I walked in and that had a lot to do with why I bought it and I just loved it. My life there was good. My present house is the same. Makes a difference to me. . .

I believe the houses that emanate bad vibrations are like that because there are not so friendly or nice entities in them, or bad things happened in them and the energy residue is still strong and you're sensitive to that energy. So it doesn't matter how much you pretty up the place--spirits and entities don't get driven out of a place that easily.

Something you might do to make your home environment a little brighter: When you get home from work/wake up in the morning/decide you feel right doing it, open your doors and out loud invite the spirits of Love and Light to come into your house and make themselves at home.

Yes, I went to sort out my mother's house (after she died) that I'd been born in and lived there until I got married. I opened the door and immediately felt freezing cold and the hairs stood up at the back of my neck. I didn't go in and got professional people to clean, then empty the contents. I've never experienced that before anywhere.

Oh yes. I do for sure. My house was built near (very very close) indian burial grounds and sometimes things seem strange. Sometimes the way our life is going effects the way we feel about our homes too. Have you been feeling well emotionally lately? Or is someone you used to live in the house with gone when you moved back in?
