The last frost is usually April or early May and I want to be ready to plant a garden by then. I saved hundereds of seeds from last years Marigolds, Giant Sunflowers, Allysum, Portulaca and a few others. I have a small 4 shelf greenhouse and was given permission from the apartment manager to buy another one. That'll give me 6 shelves for plant trays and the bottom shelf to hold water for temp. management to keep the inside above freezing. I live in a South facing apartment so they will get full sun. Any other tips are welcome.

I live in an older apartment, and unfortunately I live directly above the room with the generator. Last night the power went out in the middle of the night and I woke up to what sounded like a jack hammer just outside my window. I quickly figured out that it was the generator, but that didn't help me sleep with the awful noise. The volume was comparable literally to having a construction site with jack hammers just outside your window. In addition, my whole apartment smelled like gas in the morning.

I called the landlord and she said that generators have to make some noise and that they smell. She said the generator is necessary for keeping some systems running. I can understand SOME noise, but this was a lot more than some...does anyone else know if this is normal or if my landlord is just trying to pass off an outdated and improperly maintained generator as normal?

In my house I have 9 radiators upstairs and 6 radiators downstairs and all have thermostats on them. When the heating comes on they all come on apart from two (one upstairs and one downstairs). I have bled the rads and they are fine, but they never get hot no matter what setting I put the thermostat on. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have just painted my daughter's room apple green although I had wanted a more olive green. The color chosen didn't turn out how I had wanted it to be (olive green). Now I am wanting to repaint it to the olive green but after testing new intended color on white walls AND also on the apple green walls, it turns out that the results differ although I have using the exact same paint. The one painted on the apple green has a mustard tone while on the white walls, it is what I want. How do I solve the problem?

A contractor did the plumbing work in my house. Some of it is in my living room ceiling. Some of it started to leak after we had moved in and the ceiling was up. We agreed that he would fix it by handshake. The original work was done under a contract. It's my belief that he should have to fix it anyways. He's fixed the leak, now he's repairing the ceiling he had to tear out from the leak, and he left a mess in my house because he didn't cover anything up. I confronted him about it, because I have a 5 week old baby in the house. He claims he didn't because we didn't give him the stuff to cover up the room with, and he doesn't have that stuff. I told him that was unprofessional, and he threatened not to come back and finish. He said he didn't have to finish. Is there anything I can do if he decides not to? Not to mention it's taken him 3 months to get this far.

I got some of the Christmas season Coke-a-Cola bottles and they are a really cool shape this year with a raised 'logo' on the front - I have a project I want to do with them for gifts, but need to get the 'nutritional label' that is like baked on paint - not the peal off kind (darn!) I have tried scraping with a knife, doesn't work, and sanding. the sanding works a bit, but also scratches the glass and I would like to avoid that if possible.
Any suggestions???

The other day I was in an appliance store and there was this young man going around with a tennis ball at the end of a stick rubbing scuff marks off the stores floor.
It was amazing. I couldn't believe it.
Just a plain green/yellow tennis ball.
Thought maybe some of you would be interested in this.
Let me know if any of you heard of this.

It's been raining here for days, and I have plywood sheets in contact with the wet ground. the moisture has begun to cause the plywood sheets to come apart. I have a plentiful supply of linseed oil, but if there's a better product to use on wet plywood I'll use it.
