I can not see through my glass after 24 hours of running. I can see light from the fire, but it has that grey soot all over it within 24 hours. is this normal?

This is not normal. Are you burning wet stuff which produces soot.
The heat should keep the glass clear

very normal to have soot on the glass. Cleaning it with gloves on and steele wool pad will help, but the soot is an aspect of having a pellet stove, not much you can do to stop it from happening short of changing the type of pellets or not using the stove at all.
