Can we use schedule 40 pvc for a butane line? Meaning from butane tank to house. I know you aren't supposed to, but is it possible? We live in the county, so we don't have to worry about specific codes. Thanks for all your help.

The leafs are turning brown and yellow. I have removed the ones that are too far gone. It has new growth coming in, but how can I keep the new growth healthy? Is putting mayonnaise on the leafs once a month a good idea? I had a friend who did this and hers was beautiful.

Building a barbecue island and using Hardibacker board. I know this will take Thin Set but am not sure if Stucco can adhere directly to it. No one will give me a direct answer. Hardibacker board company says to consult the stucco manufacutuer.

I don't want to hassle with a metal mesh if I don't have to. My assumption is if I use concrete adhesive and then stucco, it should be fine but want answers from people that know or have done this.

My 30 year old daughter's Christening gown has hand sewn lace at bottom. The gown is pure white, but the lace over the years has yellowed somewhat (not a lot). I used ritz whitening and something for yellowing, but it is just a few shades off WHITE! Does anyone have a sure remedy, because my daughter is having a baby girl and I would love for her to wear her mommy's gown. My daughter thinks the difference in color is too obvious, so I really want a sure fire fix! Thanks to anyone who can help!

Today I am doing a little housecleaning and am washing my bed-covers. I have a a quilt-like feather cover that goes under my sheets and over the mattress. I looked for tags but there were none. I'm pretty sure it can machine-wash but I was wondering what cycle and for how long to wash it.

We had work done on my toilet about a month ago. I can still smell sewer fumes in there, but I've recently quit smoking so my sense of smell is very sensitive. My parents' senses are very dull and I can't convince them of how bad it really smells. They won't call the plumber back because "There's nothing to tell him to do." The fumes get really bad when I turn on the fan. I haven't gotten sick yet, but I've read that it's quite possible. Is there anything I can do myself, like caulk the floor seam? Or should I just insist on calling the plumber back?

The john lewis one would cost an extra £2000, but do you think the overall quality and look would be worth that extra money? I want to stay in this house for at least another 3 years so I want something that will last.

we have roaches all in our kitchen and they were here before we moved in. we have been living here for over a year and in the past month have had roaches taking over our kitchen at night. i've woken up a couple of times and started spraying them with lysol and it killed them. i just need to know what to do to keep the population down and then completely gone. we live in an older house built in the mid 1900's. i've never had a roach problem anywhere before. we also live in florida if this might help. please help us get rid of the bugs for good. thank you. we just need to know what more we can do.

The Condo we recently purchased has fake frosted glass on the bathroom window. I am sure it went with the previous owners decor, however, not mine. Any suggestions on a safe way to remove would be welcome.

I just bought a foreclosed house - the inside and outside of the cupboards are just caked w/grease and other food particles. I have decreased the outside, but I want to make sure the insides are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized before I put my stuff in them. Any suggestions for cleaning the crumbs and grease out of the corners and edges of the cupboards? Thanks!
