With all due respect; I suspect you should consider them to be like KINDLING.

Certainly to "PROCESS" them seems ludicrous...to me at least.

I applaud your notion however; and certainly they might have other uses if you happened to have a wood chipper; or the pieces are small enough; and/or if they are proper for mulch.

Not at all a great idea with PINE and other conifer wood; or treated lumber of any species.

Wrap them in a few sheets of damp (not too damp) newspaper, when the fire has died down a good bit place them on it , and they should keep burning for a good while ,saving you on coal, turf, logs etc

how about you pile them up into a pile and set fire to them.
