I bought a large air compressor that requires 220 volts. My garage has a few 110 outlets, but no 220. Just wondering what a electrician is going to cost me.

We are remodeling our master bath and I'm interested in people's opinions on a color that would be most appealing. Thank you.

Washing? If so, how exactly? (What do you do?)

Dry cleaning?

I've heard washing is better, but I still get "ruffled" spots, particularly on the button side near the buttons. Is there a way to fix this?

I want to install new hardwood floors. I've already got a nice new dining room set and cabinets that match. Should the hardwood floors be a lighter or darker color wood?

I have 2 lists of plants and I need to find one from each list, as well as one native and one alien species not on the lists.

Plants I need to find are:
white pine
red pine
eastern hemlock
white ash
red maple
sugar maple
sassafras
white oak
grey birch
black cherry

and the second list is:
norway maple
oriental bittersweet
multiflora rose
european buckthorn
japanese kontweed
purple loosestrife
phragmites
garlic mustard
water chestnut
crown vetch

And I have collected these two plants, more or less randomly but I don't konw what they are

and I do not know how to go about identifying them, or how to find any of the plants I need. Or any plants that weren't on the lists. I live in massachusetts if it makes a difference.

A fast-food cup leaked in my car, and the soda dried on the coins. I then put them in a cup of water to try to get the soda to dissolve, which it did for the most part. Now they're all... oxidized? I don't know if that's the right word. Anyway, I was hoping there was a simple answer that didn't involve expensive polish for collecter coins. These are just normal pocket change coins. Thanks!

Our whole house has a "textured" ceiling. We are now installing a skylight and new track lighting in the kitchen. Any idea how to deal with the ceiling where the old (bigger) fluorescent lights were and the box created by the skylight without having to redo the entire house -not sure how this "texture paint" works, how it is applied and worried about matching the existing color (white) ....

I was exploring my attic space on my house (built in 1978) and noted that it had about 6 inches of gray, powdery insulation. The stuff almost looks like a bunch of old ground up newspaper. Can someone please tell me what kind of insulation this is? I'm really hoping it's not asbestos.

I need to make about $50 in one weekend. Let's say I knocked on your door and asked if I could cut your lawn for a reasonable amount of money. The amount of money should be fair for me and the customer.

We just bought our house and we noticed that there are two sump pump basins in the finished basement. One is in the laundry room, the other in a little cubby closet. I know absolutely nothing about these. We've had some pretty heavy rains but no flooding. How necessary are these? I noticed they are sitting in a basin full of water and the water does not move therefore it is stagnate and smells bad. There are some drains leading to the basins but I've not noticed any water coming from them. I'm stumped. Can I just drain the water out of the basins and just leave the pumps in there dry? Thanks!
