I put in 4 full scoops of Gain powder laundry detergent & handwashed them, scrubbing them together as long & as hard as I could with scalding hot water. I put on 2 pairs of gloves to protect my skin from the heat. I Rinsed them with cold water & wrang them out really well & then put them on hangers to air dry.

***I had to do this because I don't have the money to go to the laundromat. With me having Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, I keep thinking, "I wonder if I missed a spot". & one lady told me that my clothes aren't clean because they have to be put in a machine & go through cycles.

***There were times in my life where I've washed clothes in the machine & odors didn't come out of my clothes, & also when I've handwashed them & they smelled fresh.

i went into the attic after the job was done......many of the 1x6 sheathing boards were beat up pretty good. it looks like they got broken up some when the shingle guys were putting nails through them. some of the boards have broken up parts as big as my hand that i can see right up through to the felt under the shingles. i feel like asking my roofer to redo this. i feel that these boards should have been replaced. it doesn't even look like i would be able to walk around up there without risking more damage .....roofer is coming to look at it today....what do you think? is this normal, or am i overreacting? thanks!!!!!

I am going to replace an existing A/C system. One of the estimates received specifies a single unit for 1st and 2nd floor.
My current A/C is 2 separate systems, a separate air handler and condenser for bottom floor and second floor.

Has anyone heard of a compost heap heating up so much it actually starts fire? Seems pretty unlikely to me, but with the ammonia coming off of it, who knows...

My wife and I want to completely renovate two bathrooms in a home we are purchasing. There are just too many local choices to choose from. Are there any nationwide chains out there? In particular, ones that offer financing?

Our commode only runs about once per hour. Surely there has to be a simple way to adjust the ballcock so that the commode is not calling for so much water.

My lawn mower is left outside in the florida weather, really because i have no choice since i moved. I suppose i could cover it with a tarp, but anyways I went to use it and It starts, but revs way too high then almost conks out then revs real high again then a few seconds later almost conks out. it repeats this and does not cut the grass well. it more or less tears it. Any suggestions. I Cleaned out the gas tank, new plugs, oil change, filter change all that good stuff and still the same results. Im not real mechanically inclined so some details would help. Thanks
