I was talked into putting in a fine pebble floor in a retail shop and led to believe that the surface after curing would be like a non porous tile. It looked great when the surface was new but it has a porous surface and with customers spilling drinks and what have you it has become difficult to keep it clean. Can pressure washing do a good job and can I get a good quality sealent later to be able to just mop the surface?

I just bought a 12-year old used house. The previous owner obviously did not do a good job to keep the house neat. There is a very strong smelling all-over the house. I am going to change the dirty carpet, hope this can make it better. Does somebody know a good way to control/eliminate this lingering smell? Thanks a lot.

Well, I've taken up the habit of doing my own laundry even tho i haven't even left High School yet, but everytime I get new clothes I fret that I might mess them up by washing them with the wrong clothes. Well, the thing about separating Lights from Darks is elementary, but what of Colours? Are Colours colours that aren't Dark, and are Darks black or any colour that is dark? And there's the matter of some Darks looking like they don't belong with each other, and the same with some Colours. It's all very confusing. Could someone please categorize and clearly define these terms for me, and if possible, include some hints? Oh, and what of multi-coloured clothing - like shirts with a misture of red, black, and white and shorts with a mixture of dark blue, light blue, red, and white - what category do they fall under?

I own a condo unit in a 5,100 sq. ft. building. It is on the beach.
the unit below me has 5 rotting floor joists beneath it on the outside. I am insisting that the problem be fixed. how bad can this situation be? We have 28 pilings and the rest of the joists appear to be okay.

I want to duplicate this backsplash application (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/competitions/kitchen-7-faith-welcomes-us-to-florida-002293) but I'd like to know that Lowe's or Home Depot regularly carries this specific material. I want the uneven texture and magnetic qualities. Also - if Lowe's/Home Depot doesn't carry it, where in Atlanta could I source some?

I am closing on a new house in a few weeks. The inspection showed only 3/4" of cellulose insulation in the attic and suggested I get more or the energy bills will eat me alive.
I've got a lot of money to pay out in the next few weeks and will not have the money to get the insulation any other way but credit card. I know that hot air rises, and cold air falls, therefore would it be allright to wait until fall to get this done or do you think the savings on utility bills will equal the interest paid on the card so I may as well do it asap? Any other suggestions would be great as well!
Thanks

We are getting ready to build our first home and I am totally lost as to ideas. This was not planned it just kinda happened and so here I am. The house is 2 stories, each story is about 1,000 sq ft. I am considering the downstairs to be a large open eat in kitchen that flows into a great room. The only seperate rooms will be a guest bath. I wonder if I am not wasting to much space with this plan. I am needing ideas on this. I live in Eastern Europe and I really want a big old world kitchen feel with lots of room for people to sit, help cook or have a drink. What are your thoughts on this...I have an engineer and builders to work out all the kinks all I have to do is come up with a plan. Please help I am lost...

I would really like if it is not hooked up to a hose and if it will not suck so much on the lining that it will cause wrinkles. also, I would prefer it to be less than $700 unless it is realy worth it. no need for a remote controlled.
