I want to duplicate this backsplash application (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/competitions/kitchen-7-faith-welcomes-us-to-florida-002293) but I'd like to know that Lowe's or Home Depot regularly carries this specific material. I want the uneven texture and magnetic qualities. Also - if Lowe's/Home Depot doesn't carry it, where in Atlanta could I source some?

galvanised steel is not the ideal metal for use as a splashback.
Stainless Steel is much better. If you want it to be magnetic, you need either 430 or 404 grade stainless steel. Look for a local company that produces custom made comercial refrigerators, they will stock a suitable grade of Stainless Steel.

I don't think you want galvanized, really, I think y ou could do better with electrocoated, or dry painted steel, not stainless steel. Stainless, depending upon the type, will not become magnetized. Some kitchen chemicals will react with zinc, which is what galvanized is.

Both have galvanized sheets pre-cut to about 2'X3'. If you want larger they can order it for you. If you use stainless you lose some magnetic quality.

BTW the link didn't open properly to the application you were looking at.

Sorry ma'am but the site won't come through. I've bought stainless steel in the roll, 18 inches wide, from both places but galvanized? I don't know. If I could have seen it, maybe I could have helped.
