I saw them once and cannot find any info on them now. Who makes them, are they any good? I have an older home (built in 1922) and would like to cool the halls and maybe exhaust the heat into the attic any thoughts short of central air and window units?

I was told that you can use slate (indoor/outdoor flooring) tiles outside on walkway if you mortar them over a concrete walkway.Do they have to be mortared to a concrete walk or is there another way to place the tiles?Part 2. Can you use concrete you mix at home from a bag for laying a new small concrete walkway or do you have to order mixed concrete from a concrete supplier?

I own a restaurant that's in a150 year old building & its hard to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

(My landlord is an idiot and super-cheap so he's not a good reference for me financially or to answer any questions!)

1. How can I even find out if an attic fan exists? (there's an opening into the attic from the kitchen area where you can access the attic, but assuming I'm not going to crawl along the rafters but instead just stand on a ladder & look with a flashlight, where would the attic fan be if there IS one?
2. If there IS one, are they usually controlled by an accessible switch, or would it be turned on somewhere on the fan itself?
3. If there ISN'T one, is this something that I can buy and have a friend install, or is it more complicated than that?
4. If I need a professional, who does this kind of thing?a handyman? or HVAC pro?
5. What kind of price am i looking at for the fan itself? the installation (if needed)?

thanks SO MUCH for any advice!

I am looking into pruchasing a tankless water heater but do not want to pay more to operate it than the tank i have now. I know my tank runs on 1000 btu's and most tankless heaters run at about 10 thousand. Is it worth it to switch over?

I recently got a new air handler installed, but my outside compressor is still the same. I noticed that the AC has cut off a couple times before my set temperature was met. Although it turned off, when I came back home it was on again. This has happend a couple times. The thermastat was not replaced. Is there any reason the system would keep cutting off without reaching the temp?

I have R-13 insulation with blown-in insulation on top. Also, my attic is vented through my Soffit with two roof vents. If I install a whole house fan will I have problems with the lose insulation, or problems with not having enough vent for the fan. I hear one-reason whole house fans are so loud is because they work twice as hard because most attics can't support that much air flow.

The original problem was the air vents dripping from condensations.

A licensed AC man came, said my condenser freon were over charged so he discharged it and left. Since then AC wasn't blowing cold air.

I called him back, he checked again and said the level is perfect and not sure what could be the problem, so he put back 2lbs of freon and left. But still the air is no longer cold.

I open the blower unit and check the coils and noticed they are not very cold no where near 45 degree or so. I also check the attic for leaking duck system and was fine. I'm not confident about this AC man and called others, but earliest appointment is set for Wed.

Meanwhile, with AC running all day long, the temperature goes up instead going down. What could cause the coil not to reach near 45 degree when everything seem normal?

I'm only wanting to grow it because I think it looks so nice in October :o)
Realizing it's getting a little late in the season, I don't care how big the ears of corn are, just like the grown husks along with some sunflowers on the other side by fall.
anyway, what/how is the best way to plant it?
for ex. how many rows (at the very least)?
thx
