Look at furniture stores on Greenville Avenue ... u can get a pretty cute bedroom set for very low Ching Ching
Also, there are stores on Harry Hines
Check out that place called the dump
Also, see about the room store or rooms to go
Estate Sales may have some very nice pre owned furniture.

I have bought things on Craigslist (end of the month is best for people looking to unload their stuff before they move), and I have also bought things at Changing Places on Coit & Beltline in Richardson. I have also heard good things about Lula B's on Greenville Ave. And if you don't want used furniture, try the Big Lots on Forest Lane as that location has more furniture than the others. You could also cruise garage sales on Friday and Saturday mornings in whatever affluent suburban subdivision is close to where you live.

ikea.
make an appointment with their home furnishing consultant (it should be free) and bring dimensions, an idea of what you'd like, and they can help you pick the right pieces for your style and budget. Ikea sells most everything... but sometimes is out of stock of things occasionally. Also, you'll have to put furniture together yourself, but hey, that's why the prices can be so low! Some things can be really cheap, but you can get some pretty decent "real" furnishings for much less than if you bought them somewhere else, too.

IKEA is very affordable (not sure if you have one in Dallas, though). I'd get your couch and bed there ( I know I'd not want to buy that kind of stuff used) then shop estate and garage sales, thrift shops and flea markets for tables, bookshelves and dining chairs. Mixing old and new always looks cool anyway and this is a great way to save money. Good luck and have fun decorating!

I don't know how mch u have to spend... but get some of u'r items from thrift stores/ garage sales/ flea markets/ swap meets/ church bazzars... u can always recover them or paint the chairs & tables easy esp to what every color scheme u would want to do in u'r rooms.

Your best best would be to shop estate sales, garage sales, antique shops in Forney on Hwy 80, and Canton.
I work at one of the antique shops in Forney, and we have lots of reasonably priced furniture. We are also good at suggesting what pieces go together, and how to accessorize.
Come see us!
