I live in an apartment and the only good breeze that comes in off the 3rd floor is when the balcony door is open. Problem is I have to screen door and the bugs get in. Ive seen advertised these instant screen doors? Has anyone used one and if so did you like it? Also theres these bug screens that are magnetic? Please! Let me know if these things worked for you :) thanks!

In our townhome the floor plan is very open and I am looking to add some color to our living room/dining room/kitchen. I plan on painting the walls a creamy taupe color and our couch is sage green and so is our curtains in the living room. I am looking for a good accent wall color, I was thinking maybe a nice deep red on the wall of the windows with the sage green curtains and then across the room in the dining room maybe a light sage green on one wall. Would this look bad? If anyone thinks this would looks bad, suggestions would be great.

I cleaned out the grill completely and there are still bugs when I uncover the grill each time I start to bbq. I get so freaked out that I turn on my grill for a good 1/2 an hour to an hour on high to make sure everything is dead inside. How can I prevent this?

without the need of refilling the gas. Will it be required to modify the connecting duct between the outside and inside unit, and are they flexible or rigid.

First off, don't flame me and tell me to tell them not to keep it, they want it, and they are going to keep it no matter what I say, so what should we feed it? We have an empty hampster cage with bedding and water, but I don't know if it knows how to use the water bottle, or eat the same as a hampster.

What can we do to keep it alive? We plan to turn it lose (FAR AWAY FROM THE HOUSE!) when it gets back to good health, but what can we do?

The perimeter of my house is enclosed by a mulch bed with a few plants. However, I would suspect the mulch was placed in 2001 when the house was built and therefor is need of an overhaul.

Right now the entire area is covered in weeds (mainly those prickly tall ones) and maybe 5% of the mulch is left, instead it is just dried out dirt.

So I am going to re-mulch, but I want to make sure that I minimize the occurrence of weeds after I am done AND be able to plant additional bushes/shrubs later this month in the newly mulched area.

My plan was to pull out all the weeds then bury the ground in Preen, after that bury it in mulch. Is it that simple, or do I need to do anything else?

Thanks in advance for advice, I live in Ohio by the way.

I have about 20 Liatris spicata planted along a fence in a rock garden. many7 or 8 years ago, when my father owned the home, he dumped rock salt in the rock area because he was tired of all the weeds. i had forgotten all about that and planted them there anyways. this is the third year since they've been in and are doing great, but the weeds are starting to get nasty again. dad says i should salt them, i don't wanna hurt them. any advice?

My drip pan for the home ac keeps filling with water. I have snaked the main pipe from AC to outside and got alot of lint looking stuff to come with it. I then poured water through that pipe till it ran clear, but still does not seem to be working. Not sure if this is something where the water is getting blocked from getting to the main pipe from inside the ac unit or if it is a bigger problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Basically, we need to install a plastic hatch so that repairmen can access the main A/C unit for our central air system. (This is an apartment building/condominium built by the world's most crooked developer and the A/C units are so badly installed that it's hard to even get repair guys to come to our building.) The plastic hatch is 14x14 inches, and is the kind that "pops" in. We know exactly where it needs to go, but the job is too small for a handyman to bother with and our super is too busy to help. What's the best tool for the job, and what should I look out for (in terms of accidentally cutting into, say, a water pipe or dangerous electrical conduit)? I feel like this is kind of a stupid question, but I don't have anybody else to ask and the A/C has been broken for over a year!

Please help! We accidentally used Jobe's fertilizer spikes for evergreen trees and shrubs on a lilac bush. The bush is now turning brown at the top branches from the large amount of acid in the spikes.. Is there anything we can do to counter-act the acid? We've dug all around the bush and we can't find the spike..

My condo is pre-wired for security monitoring (like ADT, brinks), but the service isn't actually included in the association fees (meaning I'd have to pay for it myself).

What else can I do with the system? I'd like to be able to get some level of security out of the system. Is there a free service I could use? Or can I buy something that would automatically do the 911 call if the alarm goes off?

The way our house is the sun ends up hitting one side of our house constantly and cause my brother's room and mine to be about ten degrees hotter than the rest of the house. But we can't have the air conditioner on all the time because it would cost too much and also the rest of the house will be freezing before our rooms get to a decent temperture. What can we do to make our rooms cooler??? And we have fans in our rooms, but that doesn't help much at all. And we can't open a window cuz outside is hotter.

my grandpa gave me a weed eater and it runs perfect for about a minute or so then it dies out. Starts right up and then does the same thing all over. I am running a 24:1 fuel ratio because thats what my tiller uses, then i started to add a little more gas to the tank to thin it out a little but its dont seem to help.

ok, this is gonna sound really goofy but i need some help letting go of the softest comforter in the world! I've had it since I was like 5 and its just so soft, I love it! But its getting close to being a rag and starting to fade and tear up. Last night I moved in bed and my leg caught onto a huge piece of it and I ripped most of it off. now i have that piece hanging off and I wanna fix it. But I have to let it go sometime. there are other softer comforters out there that I'm missing on! LoL. What should I do? Gradually introduce another blanket to myself...?

I've also got teddy bears that I need to grow up out of. If you look into my closet, you'll see just half of my stuffed doll collection. most of it I gave away, and the rest are in boxes in the garage. I NEED HELP IN NOT BEING A KID ANYMORE!
