my grandpa gave me a weed eater and it runs perfect for about a minute or so then it dies out. Starts right up and then does the same thing all over. I am running a 24:1 fuel ratio because thats what my tiller uses, then i started to add a little more gas to the tank to thin it out a little but its dont seem to help.

Sounds like you may have a gasket leak. I would tighten all the screws/bolts on the motor and see if that helps.

Other than that, if the unit has a choke on it, make sure it is open after it starts running.

Most likely the carburator needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. You can get a kit for it at any small engine clinic. It is an easy job. Also there is a filter on the end of the fuel line inside the gas tank. Use a piece of wire to snag the tube and gently pull it out. The filter will pull off the end of the hose. This should be replaced.

You can back out the High Speed jet haf a tunr and see if that helps.

The other solution will be to check your fuel filter in the tank connected to your line running to your carb,.

Also your carb may need cleaning, but if it cranks and runs and then dies it sounds like a clogged exhasut port to. Check that screen on the muffler or remove the muffler and check ports.

there is a filter in the tank which may be clogging, or a hole in the gasline itself which disrupts the gas flow with air. g'luck.
