I live in the south, on a river, and have more snakes in my yard than all of my neighbors. They climb onto my deck, hang out on the porch, etc. Most are non-poisonous, but I am still very afraid of them. I have heard of using campher, moth balls, lime. Please help!

I used Vinegar and Lemon Juive to try and make some of my pennies cleaner. I must have left them in too long because many of them became black and part of the incriptions dissolved. Does anyone know how I can make these black pennies clean again without destroying them further?

I moved into a new concrete block and stucco house that has permanent anchors around the windows for bolting on the hurricane shutters (metal panels). Some of the screw-in anchors have come out. Can I plug the holes with cement and drill a new hole to reattach the anchors? Or is there a better fix? What type of cement or substance should I use to plug the holes?

I live in a historic district that utilizes an ancient power ditribution system. As a result we are faced with MULTIPLE poweroutages every year. I am going to be buying a "Whole House" generator. I however, have no idea of the correct size. Rather than deal with a salesman who may provide me with information that suits his agenda (and pocketbook) rather than mine.

How do I correctly determine the load of all the circuits in my house?
We have a 100 amp electrical box with 4-30 amp , 5-15 amp, and 6-20 amp electrical breakers.

I don't cut meat, or anything for that matter, on it. It's used as extra counter space when I cook, and it inevitably gets various drips, spills and crumbs. Thanks in advance for the cleaning tips! :)

We experience flooding of marshy water at times so these should be pretty strong plants I guess.

We have installed a new countertop and sink in our kitchen. The sink is a cast acrylic, self-rimming sink. How is it supposed to be held in place? It didn't come with any clips or anything to secure it to the countertop. The sink is too light for its weight to hold it in place, and the silicone sealant doesn't hold it either.
