My parents live in a century home that has a root cellar (dirt floor & all) instead of a basement. Recently, their cats have begun to urinate in the basement. (The cats are healthy and have never used a litter box, so please don't post answers regarding that) My question is how do we eradicate the urine smell in the root cellar? It's nearly impossible to locate the area where the cats are urinating, and if/when we do, how do we go about cleaning it so it doesn't reek? It's beginning to make the entire house smell bad.

Ok. I'm redoing my bedroom. I'm thinking of some darker colors instead of the current colors in my room that are light pink... and I'm really thinking of painting it either hot pink and dark blue or blue and green. What do you think?

I have a plain old white fridge and an awesome new ikea kitchen. Well, I can't afford a new shiny fridge and this one still works, so I was wondering, can I wallpaper it or would painting it be a better idea. I found some great wallpapers, but they aren't cheap, so I wondered if anyone had any experience with this...Thanks

Okay, we just moved, I've got a new bedroom, and want to have my dream theme. I am going to have a fouton, and I found some very nice bedding to put on it - http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-3454102-5897737?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000MW7M7A Also, I am looking for a lamp, and some type of lounge chair. Those are the main things. My mom and grandma want me to have a nice bedroom, but are on a budget. So nothing too expensive... The fouton was very expensive, but it saves space in my room. Also we are looking for some really nice inexpensive ocean scenery posters. ( Alot of them! ) But basically a tropical themed lounge chair, and lamp... Oh, and we want to find a nice inexpensive fake palm tree. I am going to have an ocean waves sound soother, so it's gonna be really nice! So if you know where I can find some of these things or have any suggestions, please tell me!

Thanks!
Taylor

By "old", I guess I mean built before the 1960s.

Two weeks ago, I put down some lawn seed that has germinated and grown about 1-2 inches. Unfortunately either the germination was incomplete or I did not lay down enough seed because what has grown, is not very thick. I would like to put down more seed while the soil is still in good condition, but I don't want to destroy the seed that has already sprouted by over-watering (in order to get the new seed started). Any suggestions?

I have a screened in deck and my dryer vent is unfortunately in the screened in deck area. It causes the deck, screening and deck furniture to get very dusty. I dont know what to do since I cannot completely block the vent as this would be a fire hazard. Short of moving the vent-which I dont know how easy that would be, do I have any other options?

I went away for 2 days - no food out, no dirty dishes in the sink, no trash in the trash can. I returned to a kitchen full of houseflies -- dozens! How do you get rid of them?

I bought a Thermos portable gas grill at Target last weekend, and with it a 1LB Propane tank. One problem, however. According to the instructions, I'm supposed to have the the regulator (or whatever the dial thing is called) such that looking down on it the dial is straight up and the connection for the tank is straight down. But when I plug my small propane tank into this and set it down, the grill is shorter than the tank, so my grill ends up on an incline with the tank lifting it 2 or 3 inches off the ground. I'm quite sure that the tank is securely attached to the grill, it doesn't look like those inches are supposed to go away if I connected it tighter or something. As a solution, I would just turn the tank at an angle, but the instructions seem to suggest that the tank should always be vertical. Are there different sizes of 16.4oz propane tanks? Is it not a big deal to just rotate the tank 45 degrees or so to allow my grill to sit flat? How can I make this work?
