firstly, what type of orchid is it and what's your climate like?!
don't 'keep it well watered' it could be that you've actually over watered it! (when orchids are over watered their roots can rot and the symptoms are the same as if they're too dry) so be more specific with your next question and you'll probably get an answer that won't likely kill your plant.
only you know the specifics of your conditions so you'll have to work it out, best place to start: get some idea of what that specific plants actually requires, so either read a few books from the library or see some websites of orchid groups in your LOCAL AREA for your area-specific advice. i live in the subtropics, that could be very different for someone who lives in a temperate area so you can't rely on a non area specific advice.

keep well watered, and fertilize every three waterings, actuall I fetilize weekly, and cut it in quarters, plenty of light, and no direct sunlight.
