The unit is 13 months old and sits in an open basement. Distanced far enough away from everything. It vents fine. Air flows freely through clean and otherwise not restricted intake vents. All else is fine. Correct natural gas pressure. The burner is new and operating as intended. The thermostat, also new, works fine. The only thing I'm looking to do is to increase air flow in. Any suggestions?

My friend tore off an old "lean-to" from her house. Because there was an existing slab, a zoning variance was granted to build a new addition even though it abutted the property line. This completely upset the neighbor. After construction started, the neighbor posted a no trespassing sign. Now construction has stopped and water is coming in. Can my friend step on the neighbor's property to side the wall?

I am thinking about having a playhouse in the yard. I am NOT handy @ all. There is one for sale @ Sam's Club (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?catg=535&item=149454&prDeTab=1&pCatg=4741) Is it too challenging for a mom and her 11-yr-old? Should I hire someone to build one for me (that seems more expensive)?

I have a mobile home and the walls have like wall paper on them. The wall paper that is on the walls it came like that from the manufaturer. I was wondering if I can use a primer over the walls and then go ahead and paint the walls. There is no way you can remove this that I know of. The wall aper is very thin not like regular wall paper.

Im about to do some planting and that this weekend.Im removing all the white rocks I have now around flowers and sitting area.. I want to replace it with Mulch...but im concerned about it being a litter box for cats...will it attract the cats or should i be okay? If it does is there something i can spray or sprinkle over the mulch, so it keeps them at bay, w/o hurting them or my 3 yr old son, if he gets ahold of it??
Thanks in advance...im talking about stray cats, I havent any animals!

Does anyone know of any legislation, if any, that regulates overhanging branches from trees and shrubs in residents gardens. Walking the dog at night, we are constantly bombarded with overhanging trees and thick stray shrubbery that invade the pedestrian path. This has caused cuts to the face, eye damage and all in all a nuisance that houseowners simply don't seem to care about. Are local authorities the ones to complain to and take action as this seems an ever increasing problem?

Dual outlet rated for aluminum wiring. Rather just replace the outlet than pigtailing.

A group in our apartment building is starting our first garden in a new, raised-bed plot (about 70 sq.ft.) with very sterile, sandy-loam soil. We have some donated steer manure to add, and we may get a few other amendments, but we have a very limited budget. We can get quite a lot of coffee grounds, potato peelings, apple peelings, and banana skins very quickly, but we do not have time to compost them (not this year!)

I have read that worms will eat cooked potatoes, but not raw potatoes. (Not that we have worms yet, but I'm hoping to get some.) If I cook the potato skins, shred everything up, and add some molasses to help the bacteria along, can we mix the resulting mess directly into the soil?

I just moved into a new house and we have a walking mail person. I put some things in my mail box, but she never takes it. I have no experience with this whatsoever, I have always had a mailbox with a flag. Is there something specific I have to do? I put my mail in there for 3 days straight and she never took it.

I like to keep my car nice and clean but hadn't found a convenient place to keep my washmit, drying towel and microfibre cloths in my garage.

So I sort of made my own wall-tidy using recycled materials.

http://www.stormkrewsaders.com/captain_diy_need_solution.htm

I like it cause it utilises a section of space that was free and unusued... and it keeps my wash stuff isolated from other items which could dirty it - whilst also allowing excess moisture to dry out after use.

Added to which I recycled stuff to give it new useful life for something else, which would have otherwise just been disposed of and ended up in landfill, spending 200 to 10,000 years to half-decompose.

Any ideas though of what sort of thing I could use for a second row of storage holders for more cloths? Preferably some sort of everyday packaging which again could be given useful life as a storage holder for my wall-tidy ? Perhaps even a specific brand of item which has useful container? Thanks. :)

I bought this really cool, old desk at Goodwill. I like the way it looks but the paint is kind of chipped and also I think the paint is lead-based. I want to repaint it all together, but I'm not sure of the steps I should take. I know I have to sand it and take off the hardware and what not but what else? Real answers are appreciated. Thanks a lot!

My 14-year-old daughter is doing her room because we just moved in & she has no idea what colors to pick. She doesn't want all of her stuff to clash horribly, and she doesn't want to leave the walls the boring beige they are now. Help? Thanks!
