I just moved into a new house and we have a walking mail person. I put some things in my mail box, but she never takes it. I have no experience with this whatsoever, I have always had a mailbox with a flag. Is there something specific I have to do? I put my mail in there for 3 days straight and she never took it.

Okay, are you talking about your own mailbox at your own house?

Or do you mean your community mailbox where you use a key to get your mail?

If you have a mailbox where you have to use a key to get into your own personal mailbox, then NO they do not take outgoing mail out of it. If there is no outgoing mail slot, then she won't look through your mail and try to figure out what stays and what goes.

If you have your own mailbox on your own property that is for just your family, then he!! yes she should take your outgoing mail!

You can call the Post Office and tell them you have a pick up, you can even send Priority Mail from your own house and your mail carrier takes it - I do that!!

Good luck!

If you have a mailbox attached to your house, you need to get a clothespin & clip it to the lip of your mailbox. When you have something to mail, slip it under the pin so it holds it to the outside of your box. Mailmen won't take mail that's inside the box. Clip it to the outside & see if that takes care of the problem. I'm sure it will, but if they still don't take it, then contact your post office.

When you have door-to-door service, you put your letters into a postal mailbox, not into your personal mailbox. Should be one on your block or the next.

Meg go ask at the post office what the problem is. If she is supposed to pick up or just deliver. Different Post Offices do things differently.
