How do they get them to grow like that? What is it that I am doing wrong?

You may want to check the sun exposure of your kitchen windows. You want sun but not directly on the leaves of your herbs. If it is too sunny, find another window sill or add a window blind and keep it down but open (so rays of light can enter).

Select the herbs. Make sure you place the water-loving and drought-tolerant ones in separate containers. Pick a gardening mix for herbs or add peat moss into thicker growing mediums as well as perlite to have water absorbed in the containers.

Buy herbs that look healthy and with baby growth coming. Water them after you feel the top of the soil is compeletly dry. If you live in a very warm place make sure to add humidifying source next to them (a jar of water). Some herbs like being sprayed before nightfall with water.

Feed them regularly with herb fertilizer.

good luck

You can go to your local garden center, and they will have herb growing kits. Like a mini green house. Grows on your windowsill and you can cut them fresh for recipes.

They bring them in to the set. They don't just grow on the set.
