Ahhh, the old Seinfeld question.

Cold water, DON'T dry it until the stain is gone. Hot air sets stains.

Try some washing soda (like, next to the Borax) or one of those Stain Devils stuff (you'll have to look at the label for which one is good for protein stains.)

Or, here's a hint from Heloise:

Blood
For clothes that you launder, soaking the bloodstained garment in cold water for about 30 minutes will usually remove it. However, if stains are visible, mix a bit of water with unseasoned meat tenderizer (which breaks down the protein in the blood) and apply to the area. If the garment can’t be laundered at home, take it to the dry cleaner right away and identify the stain. Let the professionals save the clothing.

Blood stain does not come off of shirts. Especially cotton. If the blood stained the shirt not to long ago you should soak it in hot water with some bleach depending on the color of the fabric. This procedure will only fade the stain. If the stain is quite old chance of the stain coming off is less likely. So time is a factor.

Try Peroxide. Pour a little on the blood and let it bubble up. Rub stain back and forth between your fingers and keep pouring more peroxide on the blood until it is all removed from the shirt, then wash.

Try washing it with some baking soda or Hydrogen peroxide. It also depends on when the stain got in. Usually, washing and rubbing with soap and hot water does pretty good.

Well, good luck

If it's white- bleach, if not, rinse with cold water a couple times, then soak in cold water with detergent. Then pre treat the stain with stain stick or pour detergent directly on the stain and rub it in. Then wash it in cold water. If the stain isn't out, repeat this before drying. Good luck, and don't bleed on yourself/make them bleed on you next time!

Depends on the color of the opriginal shirt. Hydrogen peroxide works wonders, otherwise, it may need lemon juice and salt.

And how did said blood stains arrive on yonder shirt?

believe it or not, but you can use peroxide. sounds unbelievable but i learned this from working in a health facility. here's what you do, dab cold water and then dab peroxide on the stain keeping doing this until the blood comes out. don't worry the peroxide wont ruin the shirt.

How long have they been there? That will make a huge difference. The blood will come out completely with COLD water and hand soap if it hasn't dried on and gotten brown. If it has, do cold water and hand soap anyway and scrub it good, then spray something like Oil Eater or Grease Lightning cleanser on it, let it sit about 10 minutes, scrub it, rinse, spray it again and then wash it. It'll come out that way, I swear.

Peroxide, this is an old nurse's remedy-it may take several tries to get the stain out. Pour on stain and leave, reapply when it dries.
