Its an enamel bath and it's got these ground in old soap scummy stains. We have tried using washing powder with enzymes and left it to soak overnight but that didn't work. Does anyone have any hints tips they could give us, as our landlady is too tight to buy us another one!! Bear in mind we live in the UK, so can only get UK products.

I am a new pool owner and have realized that once the pool is covered you have to bail off the rain water. My question is - how do you take care of the cover when there's a big snow or ice event? Any advise or suggestions from experienced pool owners?

I have just recently moved to Europe and brought my grill and turkey deep fryer with me. The grill and deep fryer do not mate with the European style propane tanks here. I do not want to go out and buy a new grill and deep fryer. Is there anything that will connect to my American style products that will mate it better with the European propane tanks?

There are so many people building houses now a days, how do they come up with the money to build a house. I would like to rebuild a house that is 150 years old. The basement gets totally flooded and the wood really is not very good anymore. it has 2 floors, 4 bedrooms upstairs with 1 1/2 bath. I don't actually know how much square feet it is though. But if I still owe about a 150,000 on this house and it is really not worth selling because I won't get all that money if I sell that house. the house now is only worth about 98,000, all the rest is the interest. I would like to rebuild the house on the land but how do I come up with the money in the next 15 years?

I live in NYC. I recently moved to a new apartment and the pilot light in the stove is broken and will not light. Is this a fire hazard? If so I can request that the landlord be responsible for the cost to fix the stove. When I asked him about it –he just said to light the stove with a match.

Someone just told me that she washes her bed sheets weekly. I do mine when they start sticking to my back. Which is about every four months or so. Surely she's pulling my leg. The cost of washing powder must be terrible.

I have ferns that have taken over an otherwise nice bed of camelias and junipers. The ferns turn brown and die back in the fall making the bed ugly and messy. I have pulled them out, cut them back and used roundup(carefully),but in the spring, they come back and choke everything desirable out. How can i get rid of the ferns?
