Go to your local Farm Supply Store or Do-It-Yourself Pest Control. There will find "Red Fox" urine. Ask the clerk to explain how to use it. This is "guaranteed to work. I have 11 houses and use it to keep the squirrels out of the attics.

Strange as it sounds, I've found that moth balls worked for us.
I don't know if its a standard use or not, but I haven't heard the dear little varmints since I put them up there. Maybe just my going up there scared them. Hope it works for you too :)

Get a cat... Cats do a great job at keeping rodents under control...
