The post that my gate's hinge is on broke in half, so half of the post is still stuck in the concrete. How do I remove the broken part and replace it with a new one?

How do I remove the smell of perfumed/scented laundry detergent from my clothes?

I've received some great hand-me-down clothes lately, but the smell of laundry detergent is overwhelming. I have a front-loading european washer and use very little, and unscented, detergent. Any ideas? thanks in advance....

walking into a neighbors house I was overwhelmed by the smell of bad DOG! Am I able to smell my house as well?

I want to make sure my house smells clean to visitors. I'm afriad that I am "immune" to the scent of my house because I live in it. What do you know about this worry ?

Tiling around a vanity?

Hi All,
I am installing a vanity and tiling as well. The floor is completly tiled.
Is it best to install the vanity before tiling the wall? Does it improve the appearance?

I have a plant with black berries growing on a spreading vine close to the ground.?

How can I get rid of this gritty residue on clean dishes in the dishwasher?

Every time I run a load of dishes in my dishwasher they come out clean but with a small amount of this gritty residue on them. I've tried using Jet Dry and other similar products but nothing has gotten rid of it. I've never had this problem with other dishwashers... Help!

How can I soften and remove marine spar varnish from metal without removiing the paint underneath?

There are 2 coats of marine spar varnish on the black metal door threshold at my front door that was applied by renters 2 years ago. The varnish is starting to blister but it is difficult to peel off. I tried Goop Off and paint thinner and neither did anything.

Community Service Organizations in Pennsylvania?

Just wondering-been searching for some kind of community outreach program. I'm a single mom soon to be going through a divorce & got stuck with the house. The roof needs LOTS of work done-- it's literally pouring in --like a 5 gal bucket every 3 hours. We're having a horrible rain storm.
Anybody aware of any programs that are willing to help? Seems like everybody I have called, you have to be a senior-60 or older. Thanks in advance for any input!

What is the typical timeline for buying a house?

I have been looking at houses for a while now...but I was wondering what the timeframe/timeline looks like once you put in an offer? (Ex how long til they respond, closing, inspections, how long until you move in?) Also, I've heard that skip 1-2 monthly mortgage payments, can someone explain this? Thanks ya'll!
