Just wondering-been searching for some kind of community outreach program. I'm a single mom soon to be going through a divorce & got stuck with the house. The roof needs LOTS of work done-- it's literally pouring in --like a 5 gal bucket every 3 hours. We're having a horrible rain storm.
Anybody aware of any programs that are willing to help? Seems like everybody I have called, you have to be a senior-60 or older. Thanks in advance for any input!

I have contacted Habitat for Humanity & got a voice mail on 3 occasions. Still waiting on a repsponse. As for United Way, I've been told over & over you have to be a senior, but I will be checking the VFW's & such as I never thought about them.

I know there's got to be somebody somewhere, it's just finding them.

There are various programs out there for low income families. Check with your local United Way and they can probably direct you to someone who can help.
Good luck.

Have you tried contacting Habitat for Humanity. They may have some advice for you.

Try the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, VFW, they do a lot of community service.

good luck
