Every time I run a load of dishes in my dishwasher they come out clean but with a small amount of this gritty residue on them. I've tried using Jet Dry and other similar products but nothing has gotten rid of it. I've never had this problem with other dishwashers... Help!

I've tried using both liquid and powder detergent, and I get the same gritty stuff regardless.

Sounds like your DW detergent is not gettign dissolved. Try running the hot water in your faucet until the water gets hot before turning on your DW. If you can hold your hand under the hottest water, then you need to turn up the temp. on your hot water heater temp.

I had this problem with my brand new house. My dishwasher started spitting what looked like thick, small chunks of grease all over my dishes and the inside of my dishwasher. I kept calling the repair man who said nothing was wrong. I practically crawled inside of the washer to look around and found on the inside, lower part of the door there was a bunch of waxy, grease type buildup! I literally took the door off and began scraping this junk off - I have never seen anything like it and I do rinse my dishes really well. I had the repair man come again and showed him what I found. He stated that I should be using Cascade not the cheap stuff I had been buying. I looked in the owners manual and it also states to use Cascade. After I thoroughly cleaned the inside of the dishwasher and switched to Cascade I no longer had the problem.
