I am interested in dividing up my backyard a little bit. To make it more like garden rooms. What kinds of plants make nice informal borders or boundaries? Currently I use boxwoods, blueberry bushes and grapes...

Many Thanks for your input. I can grow a wide range of plants in my zone.

this year we decided to start a little garden and planted some tomatoes, we picked them off the vine when they were in a green state expecting they would turn red (usualy in the supermarkets you buy them green and you leave them for a while and they turn red." we have left them out for 2-3 weeks already but no sign of red. did we do something wrong??

My son had a friend spend the night about 5 years ago and he wet on the carpet. I have my carpets cleaned every year so they are still in very good condition. The problem is no company yet has been able to get out the stain. And it shows up worse after each cleaning!

Is it best to use a brush or a roller for painting mouldings? I plan to paint the crown moulding and chair rail before it is placed on the wall and then touch it up since the walls and ceiling have already been painted. Is there a specific roller or brush that will allow me to sweep across the mouldings quickly? I figured a brush could work, but I thought perhaps a roller would be a lot faster and wouldn't show the same streaks.

I have some sunflowers that I am displaying in a vase, and they look better if I bind them together with a rubber band. My roommate says that might hurt them though and make them wilt sooner- does anyone know?

The floor lamp will be made from Diamond Willow, which is hollow. I would like to put in a 3-way switch, that will allow. a shaded bulb to be turned on, then a second bulb within the willow or both.

Here's an odd one. We are putting a coat of primer on the bathroom. As the paint dries it is begining to peel and clump off.

The old paint - we have no idea how old it is. This house was built in 1908, though I'm sure the paint is a few years older then that. Anyone know why this would happen?

What can we do to stop it?

My house lately seems to be shifting. The concrete is coming up and our stick on tile is cracking and so is the concrete. On the ceiling there are huge cracks and they have progressed in 6 months, and keeps cracking. Is it because it has been such a dry year? So I guess my question is:

What has caused this and how can I fix it?
