I bought a bread machine on eBay and the lady taped it so up thoroughly, that I can't wash off the glue residue! I tried peanut butter, Dawn detergent in some areas -- they didn't work, and the acetone (nail polish remover) only seemed to etch the plastic. Any help?

It is an open run-in shed, no soffits but has ridge vent with white shingle roofing. Wanted to use blue board. Do I place it in between the joists, right against the back side of the roof sheeting or do I need to place it on top of the joists so there is air space?
