Yep, he gave you exactly what he said.... If you had wanted to move into a home with walls already finished, then he would have charged you extra to do that, and you would have had to tell him what you wanted on the walls.

Putting white primer on the walls is fairly standard for all contractors these days, with new homes... even modular, or mobile homes. The Primer helps keep your finish coat from appearing to be 2 different colors as it covers sheetrock, and joint compound, for instance.

Ive seen a lot of folks just go ahead and move into a home, and live with just the primer for a year or so... and paint a finish coat later... altho, re-priming may be necessary, if it gets stained very much. (Primer doesnt clean up very well, heheh)

I would suggest that you buy some paint tools, and pick some colors, and tackle the house one room at a time.... or contact a painting service... go ahead and get those walls painted in the colors of your choice. They will be easier to keep clean. ;)

It means painted with white primer. The home builder left you with a blank canvas to paint however you want!

It means your home will be painted with white primer paint so it's ready for you to add the finish color of your choice.

That's exactly what the builder meant!!!

No contractor should sell a house without at least priming the interior, and priming allows sealing and allows the buyer to then choose their own colors. Certainly when having a house built, some have colors already chosen, or a chart of colors for a buyer to choose and have painted.
