we have 4 small boxwoods. they have been doing very well until the las 2 weeks. Now 50% of their leaves have turned brown and dried out. Should we water them more? They are in the sun most of the day and as London has been relatively sunny the last little while I'm concerned this is the issue. Any help?

I have never dyed clothing before. I want to put the black back into some faded clothing. My stainless steel double kitchen sink looks like the perfect place. Is this a mistake ?

I ripped out some old bushes that have been in front of my house for years. I plan on replacing the light pole also, but am looking for some ideas on what type of flowers to plant in the new space.

I have a 104 square-foot second-story deck that I built with a friend last year. It's supported by four 4x4x16 posts on solid concrete pilings that go 6 feet into the ground. The deck is stable, but I have noticed that in the last year the 4x4 posts (pressure treated pine) have twisted and cracked a bit -- due to wooed being cut when it was wet, a common problem -- and two of the outer posts have bowed about 1 inch away to either side of the deck. Do I need to replace these posts, and if so -- how do I do that without taking down the entire deck? Should I consider replacing them with 6x6 posts, perhaps out of another wood like Cedar?

Soil may be classed as acid, neutral, or alkaline. Soil with much lime, or wood ashes would be apt to be alkaline. "Sour" soil, or soil with piles of oak leaves or pine needles would be apt to be acid. Those are only rough estimates. I want a way to check soil acidity or alkalinity using common household items.
