It depends on the location, and the size of the house.
My location a 3 - 4 bedroom home average about 800,000 and up. Yet, there are newer ones, town homes, they are 700,000 and up. It is not CA either.
California, San Jose. also depend on the location! my parents home over a million. My uncle under 700,000.
South California, 700,000 and up.

you can find vary prices in the US. Remember first rule of real estate. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Then the type of home, size, and optionals added to it.
Same rule applies all over the world.

National average presented about a week ago was $234,000.
Depends on demographics. A 2.5 M house in the NE is worth about 500K in some areas and may only bring 175K in others.

that all depends on where you are. places like california have a really high average home price some ave's there start in the two hundred thousand range and go up quickly from there, other places it starts below 100 thousand dollars. where my family is its about 400, 000 for a new home and 250, 000 for an older home.

It depends on what state your from. Here in California there are places that you can find a fixer upper for 350,000.00 but in the bay area your talking at least 500,000.00 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath. It's pretty sad for the kids that are just moving out on there own.

Between 150,000, to 250,000 it really depends on the state and area you live in. Like Texas has pretty cheap housing and California new work expensive.

In D.C. area & Northern Virginia & Southern Maryland, the houses are way overpriced: $400,000 is the minimum for a decent house. $600,000 is the usual for a bigger house. $900,000 for a house on a large lot. Incredibly insane... (I lived in Northern VA last year).

Here in Southern California, the houses are not much better: $400,000 is the minimum & our house on a small lot was $600,000 but that's okay because we sold our VA house for $700,000.

On the west coast and east coast it will be high , over $300k in most places
In the midwest it will be around $170k or less.
Where do you live?
