Mattress Manufacturers use different colors and patterns to distinguish certain types of mattresses from each other. They also put some very unappealing prints and colors on their less expensive mattress sets to make them appear less appealing to consumers;likewise they dress up the expensive mattress sets.

I believe that they tell you the closer the lines the more firm the mattress is. You could call a mattress store.

they make them look pretty so that people will buy them. Plus the quilted designs make the mattresses look fluffier than what they are.

same goes for underpants ,maybe there are people that have spend all their money on the matrass and they cant afford sheets any more
