Women's Health - October 2007

I am cramping in my tummy and back but I just had my period less than two weeks ago. Do you know any reason for feeling like this mid-cycle? I don't know if it matters but I'm 20, in the last year my pms/periods have been out of control uncomfortable, and I'm not sexually active. Thanks.

I am going in for an op to remove an ovarian cyst. I may also be having a hysterectomy at the same time if the Dr feels it will be neccesary. I have heard from various people that they have had a new lease of life and/or have gone straight into the menopause. I do not know what to expect so any advice would be helpful.

I have been having problems with my hemogolbin levels beng really low....a few months ago it was 10.4 and as of monday it was 7.3 i have been taking iron but it does not seem to help! I had more labs done on monday and My hemoglobin is still 7.3 and she said that my
HCT was 32 suppose to be around 36-47!
MCV was 69 suppose to be 80-100
MCH was 21 suppose to be 27-32
My Lymph % is 15.2 suppose to be 20-35

What do all of these mean!!!

I am a female and i am 17 years old,I do not have heavy periods so i am not sure what the proble is!! Do any of you know what might be wrong I am worried!!

Please tell me what my test results mean!!!

Also my friend said that i might have Cancer she said that if your lymph% is low then you have cancer is that true!!

I have never had sex, So yeah not a possibility. I am pretty late almost three weeks. And ive had my period for a while now and Its been really regular. So idk. Will I get it. I am getting a ton of that clear stuff and cramps.

I don't feel like waiting for a callback from my doctor, and I don't think I even asked this - but are you protected from pregnancy on the placebo pills at the end of your pack? I can't find the information in the package insert. I know they don't contain hormones, but is it another seven day wait after the placebo pills end and the new pack starts before your okay to have sex?

My doctor told me before the surgery that if I wasn't bleeding to have sex in a week. But I had sex the next day and 3 times thereafter. But today she's telling me to wait the full two weeks. Which means I have another week to go by her orders. She doesn't know that I've already had sex cause I never bleed afterwards. I've had this procedure before and did the same thing & was fine afterwards. Should I be scared of infection, or risk? I feel great inside and out. Nothing never was hurting inside my private area, I just don't know what the big fuss is all about. Help! Feeling a little guilty but very horny still!

1) I've been on my periods a year and three months approximatly and I still haven't got a normal pattern to it yet is this unusual?

2) When I'm on my periods one day I'm really light the next I'm heavy and then I'm light again and it goes light then heavy throughout the 5 days I'm usually on.

3)Is it usual to get spots when your due on? and do you get things that happen to you when your due on?

I was put on BCP because my period would not become regular. I would bleed all the time. My OBGYN said I should either get on BCP for 3 monthes or have a D and C. I don't think the D and C would have worked because I would occasionally stop bleeding. So, my doctor gave me these new pills called Lybrel. When I first got on them, I pretty much stopped bleeding. I have been on them for going on 3 weeks. I started bleeding again, although it is pretty light and seems to be old blood. It freaked me out at first, but then I looked up info on the pills and everything said that most women experience breakthrough bleeding, especially in the beginning. My question is, has anyone else tried these new BCPs? Did you have breakthrough bleeding? How long did it last?

Ever since I was 14 I have been thinking about getting breast reduction surgery. I am now 20 and ready to take the jump but I don't know what size I should go down to in order to be proportionate to my body. I'm 5 ft 7in and weigh 158. Right now my bra size is 38H. My doctor has recommended going to either a C or D cup. Which would fit my body type more?

Before my period starts, I get tingles in my lower abdomen, thighs, and my back- then cramps will follow, and then my period starts. Right before my period ends, my mid and lower abdomen (especially the part where the eggs are released) and my thighs feels itchy and starts to tingle, too. And I also have this stretching, twisty feeling in my lower abdomen too but it doesn't hurt at all. Also, my back will start to itch too. That's how i know my period is coming to an end. I just wanted to know why that happens and if anyone else gets that feeling. Serious answers please!

I use Playtex Gentle Glide and the absorbency is super. This is the first day of my period and I have leaked twice. I only left it in for 2 hrs. too. What is going? Am I not doing something right. I insert them correctly, what is the problem?

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo 2 years ago to help improve my acne. Well I stayed on it for about 7 months and then I ended up having my period for 2 and a half weeks. So I was taken off of it and didn't think about going back on it. That was the only side effect that I had during the time. Recently I went back on it for actual birth control reasons and I am wondering about some new things that are happening. I told the Dr. that I had already been on this form of birth control and the results of it. They said to try it out again and see what happens. Well 3 days into the 2nd week of the pills I woke up crying for about 2 hours. I am not one to get that emotional from things or even PMS. The whole rest of the day and into the next I had three "outbursts". I am curious is this normal? I just started the highest dousage of hormones today should I be worried that by Monday its going to happen to me again? I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did.

My boyfriend and I are doing the whole diet and exercise thing right now. He's trying to get healthy and I'm trying to lose weight and get healthy. I have been throwing up a lot for the last 7 months periodically. I would feel great and healthy and will eat everything and then when I least expect the moment I am at my best emotionally I would throw up. Or the moment I am at my wost emotionally it would happen. Then I completely lose apetite and can't hold any food at all without throwing it up. And then I would gradually start eating soups, mustard and MC Donald's (the only foods I can take) and I would get better and start eating normally....untill the next time of period (about a month) and things would repeat. I've only had sex once. I'm 21. This problem started immediately after my first sexual contact.I'm obviously not pregnant. i'vebeen tested. My blood is all good the doctors said. WHAT COULD be going ON?
