I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo 2 years ago to help improve my acne. Well I stayed on it for about 7 months and then I ended up having my period for 2 and a half weeks. So I was taken off of it and didn't think about going back on it. That was the only side effect that I had during the time. Recently I went back on it for actual birth control reasons and I am wondering about some new things that are happening. I told the Dr. that I had already been on this form of birth control and the results of it. They said to try it out again and see what happens. Well 3 days into the 2nd week of the pills I woke up crying for about 2 hours. I am not one to get that emotional from things or even PMS. The whole rest of the day and into the next I had three "outbursts". I am curious is this normal? I just started the highest dousage of hormones today should I be worried that by Monday its going to happen to me again? I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did.

I had a problem with crying for about 3 days when I went on Yasmin but as soon as I took my B Complex I was ok. I would definitely let the doctor know what's going on and how concerned you are about this because when you did the Ortho-Tricyclen Lo before you had never had this problem.

As for that bleeding (breakthrough bleeding which can act a lot like a period) I found out from my doctor that breakthrough bleeding is a very common side effect with Ortho-Tricyclen and Tricyclen Lo.

If you ever need to talk please feel free to e-mail or IM me off site any time.
